Let's rewind to the year 2020 – remember when the pandemic shook things up? Well, if you don't, make sure to get checked asap, but chances are, you do. There's also a big chance that, like me, this year felt like a nudge to finally take your dreams more seriously. To close the knowing-doing gap, as Robert and Jeffrey would put it.

Back then, this meant sharing my love for fashion by diving in the sub-culture of online clothing curation. I realized that, any little step I could take to appease that side of me would be a win, and that's exactly how @styledby.fabi came to life.

Now, let me show you how it's evolved into what you see today!

12th September, 2020 - @Styledby.fabi Launches.

After virtually curating fashion pieces anonymously for 7 years, I opened an instagram account to share my sets and connect with fellow content creators.

21st September, 2020 - First Logo Creation.

Like with anything online, unless it's branded it doesn't belong to you. Tthis is even truer when creating content. With the track a new page naturally gains, I created a small logo consisting of an uneven circular shape that I could easily add to my sets, and in a range of different opaque and pastel colours to match those of the outfits.

19th January, 2021 - 100 followers in 1 week milestone.

After posting the first series of outfits, through consistent content rollout and alternation of hashtags to my outfits, I was able to gain 100 followers within 7 days, the highest number of followers gained within 1 week to that date.

5th February, 2021 - First +1k likes.

This milestone came about 4 months into the creation of my account. I would later experience how ephemeral the numbers were but I know that above all, the significance of this number to me, comes from the fact 1,000+ people saw themselves reflected in my content, which was the goal I decided to chase after.

15th July, 2021 - Logo update.

Growing as a content creator means my sets' style and aesthetic keep changing alongside my own, and this is why the @styledby.fabi logo was updated to look more mature and modern. On the other hand, I also tracked seasonal trends, which played a crucial role in the style of my sets. As 2021 fashion brought more jewel-colors to the forefront, I decided to update my logo with a bolder font and primary colors that would better suit the sets.

28th July, 2021 - Season highlights.

6th January, 2022 - Fail and course-correct.

Looking at the engagement numbers for the last two months of 2021, I noticed posts with a colorful logo got 11.8% less attention compared to the ones with a minimalist logo. In contrast with early 2022, which saw the peak of maximalism in fashion, a see-through logo allowed the pieces I was curating to occupy more space in the screen of the viewer without overcrowding the sets

The experience of creating content that can go from 14 to 1k likes and back is one that forces you to wonder, What is something I can create today and be proud of, even when no one else is? As of 2023 @styledby.fabi is and will remain a work in progress. It might take different shapes, dive into new platforms or even cease to exist in this medium. However it might end, I'm just glad I started.
